Te Tūāpapa — Fine Art Heru
Te Tūāpapa means the foundation — the base that everything else is built on.
This four-pronged Fine Art Heru is inspired by whānau: close, connected, and protective. The prongs sit side by side, supporting one another, just as family does. Together they create strength, balance, and a feeling of being held steady.
Each heru is handcrafted in Aotearoa with care and intention. Subtle variations in colour and detail are part of the handmade process and make every piece unique — no two are ever exactly the same.
Designed to be worn gently, Te Tūāpapa should be secured well in the hair to help prevent slipping or falling. Treated with care, it’s a piece made to last and to be worn often.
More than a hair adornment, Te Tūāpapa is a reminder of where you come from, who stands beside you, and what keeps you grounded.
Care & Handling
This taonga is handcrafted with care and is intended to be worn gently. Please ensure it is securely placed in the hair before wear to help prevent it from slipping or falling out. Avoid dropping or placing pressure on the piece when not in use, and store safely to help preserve its finish and longevity.

To keep your handmade acrylic and resin earrings looking their best, avoid exposing them to water, harsh chemicals or prolonged sunlight, as this can affect the materials. Gently clean them with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust or fingerprints. Store in a cool dry place, preferably in a jewellery box or pouch, to prevent scratches or damage. With a little care your unique mini art pieces will remain beautiful for years to come.
