The Sizing Kit
Our sizing kit is the easiest and most reliable way to find your perfect fit. You’ll receive physical nail samples to try on at home, allowing you to check the width, curve and sidewall fit before ordering your set.
Sizing kits are available to customers within New Zealand only. Due to international shipping costs, they cannot be purchased as a standalone item for overseas delivery.
The Manual Measuring Method
No sizing kit? You can measure your nails at home using clear tape, a fine-tip marker and a ruler. This method captures the full width and curve of each nail from sidewall to sidewall, helping you find the closest size for every finger. Measure carefully for the most accurate fit.
The Coin Photo Method
The coin photo method is best used as an additional sizing reference alongside your manual measurements. Simply photograph your nails next to a coin to provide a sense of scale. As angles, lighting and camera distortion can affect the results, this method is less accurate than a sizing kit or manual measuring, so a precise fit cannot be guaranteed.
Tips for the Best Results
- Place a 20c or $1 NZ coin flat beside your nails.
- Keep your hand flat with your fingers straight and relaxed.
- Take the photo from a direct bird’s-eye view.
- Hold your phone straight and parallel to your hand—do not tilt it.
- Make sure the coin and every nail are fully visible and facing straight towards the camera.
- Use clear, bright lighting and ensure the photo is sharp.
- Take a separate photo of your thumb.
- Avoid angled or side-view photos, as these distort the apparent size of both the coin and your nails.
A Natural, Versatile Fit
Most of our nail shapes have a balanced, natural curve that sits between very flat and deeply curved, making them suitable for a wide range of nail beds.
If your natural nails are extremely flat, your options may be more limited. A flatter-fitting or extra-short shape will usually give you the best result. For a slight curve mismatch, careful application or the glue-tab-and-glue “sandwich” method may help create a more secure fit.
However, a tip with a significant gap should not be forced onto the nail, as this can lead to discomfort, lifting or premature popping off. This is where a physical sizing kit is especially helpful, as it allows you to check the width, length and curve of your chosen shape before ordering your full set.
Shape-Specific Fit Notes
- Extra Short Natural Square: A flatter shape best suited to short-to-medium nail beds.
- Extra Short Stiletto: Features very short sidewalls and is best suited to ultra-short or bitten nail beds.
- Short Stiletto: Features a high arch and strong curve, making it best suited to deeply C-curved nail beds.
- Most other shapes: Have a balanced, natural curve and are suitable for most nail beds.
